Johnny Hale (died April 14, 1881), also known as John Hale, was a Texas rancher and cattle rustler.
Hale was responsible for igniting the bloodiest gunfight in El Paso, Texas which is known as the Four Dead in Five Seconds Gunfight. This resulted in the death of El Paso Constable Gus Krempkau. After gunning down Krempkau, Hale was, himself, gunned down a few seconds later with a second gunfire from a newly appointed Town Marshal Dallas Stoudenmire who demonstrated his fierce reputation that had a huge impact by instilling fear into this violence-hardened town. Marshal Stoudenmire gunned down three men in less than 5 seconds. One victim, Krempkau, was killed by Hale.
