John Stanislaw Kubary

John Stanislaw Kubary (born November 13, 1846 in Warsaw, Poland, died October 9, 1896, Pohnpei), also stated as Jan Stanislaw Kubary, Jan Kubary, or Johann Stanislaus Kubary, was a Polish naturalist and ethnographer.

He discovered at least four bird species like the Samoan Wood Rail (Gallinula pacifica), the Mariana Crow (Corvus kubaryi), the Caroline Islands Ground Dove (Gallicolumba kubaryi), and the Pohnpei Fantail (Rhipidura kubaryi). Also the peak Mount Kubari on New Guinea is named after him.
