John Moriarty (writer)

John Moriarty, (born 1938) is an Irish writer and philosopher.
He was born in Kerry, Ireland and educated at Listowel and University College Dublin. His books include Dreamtime (Dublin, The Lilliput Press, 1994 - revised 1999), a trilogy called Turtle Was Gone a Long Time: Crossing the Kedron (1996), Horsehead Nebula Neighing (Lilliput, 1997), and Anaconda Canoe (Lilliput, 1999); his autobiography Nostos (Lilliput, 2001); Invoking Ireland: Ailiu Iath n-hErend (Lilliput, 2005); Slí na Fírinne (Slí na Fírinne Publishing, 2006); Night Journey to Buddh Gaia (Lilliput, 2006).
In 2007, to increase accessibility to his work, a 13 CD box-set containing a collection of stories narrated by him will be made available, also through The Lilliput Press.
He lives at the foot of Mangerton Mountain in north Kerry, and online at www.johnmoriarty.net.
