John Metgod

Johannes ("John") Antonius Bernardus Metgod (born February 27, 1958 in Amsterdam, Noord-Holland) is a retired football (soccer) defender from the Netherlands, who started his professional career in the 1970s playing for HFC Haarlem.
Metgod later served AZ'67, Real Madrid, Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur. In the summer of 1988 he came back to Holland, and played for Feyenoord Rotterdam for six seasons before retirement. He later became a football coach, working for Excelsior Rotterdam and Feyenoord. Metgod obtained 21 caps for the Netherlands national football team, scoring four goals. His younger brother Edward was also a professional footballer, playing as a goalie.
