John McLaren (baseball)

John McLaren (born September 29, 1951 in Galveston, Texas) is the current bench coach for the Seattle Mariners for manager Mike Hargrove. Previously, he served in the same capacity from 1998-2003 for the Mariners and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays under Lou Piniella. Earlier, he was the Mariners' bullpen coach and then third base coach.

He played in the minor leagues from 1970 to 1976.

McLaren also served as the third base coach for Team USA during the 2006 World Baseball Classic.

In 1991, McLaren was inducted into the Kinston Professional Baseball Hall of Fame. He was the manager for the Carolina League Kinston Eagles in 1981 and Kinston Blue Jays in 1982.
