John McGinley is an Irish Labour Party politician from Lettermacaward, County Donegal who is the current mayor of County Kildare and political leader of Kildare County Council. He represents the Leixlip Electoral Area, mainly the town of Maynooth where he lives.

He is additionally a board member of the Electricity Supply Board, Ireland's national electricity generator and grid supplier, as the employees' representative.
