John Mackay (born 13 September 1967) is the main news presenter on STV Central's flagship news show, Scotland Today.
Over his career, John has covered a number of important stories - including the Lockerbie bombing, the creation of the Scottish Parliament, and more recently the Bird Flu case in Fife. Mackay joined Scotland Today in the mid 1990s after working for BBC Scotland's Reporting Scotland. Of Hebridean roots, Mackay has written three books set on the Isle of Lewis "The Road Dance", "Heartland" and "The Last of the Line" (all Luath Press Ltd. from 2002, 2004 and 2006).
