John MacLeod (Minister, Scotland)

John MacLeod (born May 14, 1948 in Fearn, Scotland) is a minister of the Free Church of Scoltand (Continuing) who has served in congregations of the Free Church of Scotland and Free Church of Scotland (Continuing) in Scotland and North America. He came to prominence in connection with disputes within the the Free Church of Scotland (q.v.) over questions of doctrine and morality. These internal disputes led to an attempt to prevent him and more than twenty other ministers from preaching and culminated in a division which brought into existence the Free Church of Scotland (Continuing) of which John MacLeod is the Principal Clerk of Assembly. He was Moderator of the 2006 General Assembly.
