John Lynch (actor)

John Lynch (born December 26, 1961, in Corrinshego, near Newry, County Armagh in Northern Ireland) is an Irish actor.

Born on Boxing Day in 1961, Lynch attended St Colman's College, Newry, an all-Catholic school.

Lynch has said that his family was not political but were "affected" by the Troubles, as they are known in Ireland. His mother is Italian, and he is the brother of British-based actress of films and TV, Susan Lynch. His other sister Pauline Lynch is also an actress, but works as an English and drama teacher in Saint Patrick's Grammar School, Downpatrick.

Lynch has appeared in numerous films related to Northern Ireland's problems, such as Cal, In the Name of the Father, The Railway Station Man, Nothing Personal and Some Mother's Son, as well as the Irish-themed film Evelyn, with Pierce Brosnan, Aidan Quinn and Julianna Margulies.

Lynch played George Best in a film directed by his wife Mary McGuckian in 1999. The film was called Best
