[edit] Stint at 106.9 FreeFM

His former show, John London's Inferno, aired from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. PST on KIFR 106.9 Free FM in San Francisco. The show's staff included producer Dennis Cruz. co-host Chris Townsend, engineer Larry Jimenez, and call screener Erica Osher. Previous sidekicks from the Not Just Sports Show on KNBR included Renee Brinkley, Laura Heywood (who is now known as "Producer Laura" and appears on Sirius Satellite's Maxim Radio channel), and Cyrus Saatsaz, host of KNBR's The Extreme Scene.

On April 7th, 2006, London, Cruz, and Townsend left FreeFM. The San Francisco Chronicle web site reports that all three were fired after London offered $5,000 for the murder of FreeFM's Penn Radio radio host and well-known magician Penn Jillette, "$7,000 if he suffers". This offer was made because Jillette went on a five minute rant about how Paris Hilton should never sink down to the level of Mother Theresa. Jillette's contention was that Mother Theresa was a demented, twisted woman who gained pleasure from watching the sick and poor people of Calcutta die slowly. London typically spent the first few minutes of his show criticizing Jillette's show (which preceded London's).

[edit] Regular segments on the KIFR edition of the Inferno

John London's KIFR show featured a number of regular segments including "Things I Just Don't Care About," "Stump the Phone Bitch," and "The Friday Cocktail Party." The show combined the production skills of Dennis Cruz, the sports background of Chris Townsend, and the years of radio experience on a variety of top-market stations of John London. In addition to his regular show duties, engineer Larry contributed the "Stoner Movie Review" to the show, as well as a vast knowledge of classic rock music. Call screener Erica maintained the running behind-the-scenes show blog.
