John Lloyd Young

John Lloyd Young won the Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Musical in 2006 for his role as Frankie Valli in the musical Jersey Boys. The role was his Broadway debut. Young is a graduate of Brown University. After moving to New York, Young worked his way up through the ranks of the theater scene with roles in numerous regional and off-Broadway productions, and numerous plays. Though he auditioned, he didn't land the part of Frankie Valli in the pre-Broadway run of Jersey Boys, but he received the call a year after his first auditions to headline the show on Broadway.

He was profiled as ABC World News Tonight's Person of the Week on Friday, June 16, 2006.

According to TV Guide on July 28, 2006, ABC/Touchstone has signed Young to a one-year talent holding deal.

Young's current contract with Jersey Boys is up on April 22, 2007.
