John Leo

John Leo is a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute and a former columnist for U.S. News & World Report. He is the author of three books: How the Russians Invented Baseball and Other Essays of Enlightenment (1989), Two Steps Ahead of the Thought Police (1998), Incorrect Thoughts: Notes on Our Wayward Culture (2000. Before joining U.S. News, Leo was a senior writer at Time magazine and a staff reporter at The New York Times. He also served as an associate editor at Commonweal and deputy administrator at New York City's Environmental Protection Administration.
He lives in Manhattan with his wife, Jacqueline Leo, the editor in chief of Reader's Digest.
