John Layman

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

John Layman is a comic book and video game writer. Once an editor for Wildstorm, a branch of DC Comics, Layman turned to writing comics full-time in 2002. He mainly writes for Marvel Comics, and recent books include a solo Gambit series, House of M: Fantastic Four, and Sentinel Squad O*N*E*.

Layman also has written a creator-owned graphic novel called Puffed, and Armageddon & Son, a spoof of the spy genre. He has worked on a Red Sonja/Claw crossover comic and two Thundercats mini-series.

As of February, 2007, Layman is currently writing Scarface: The World is Yours, Marvel Zombies vs. The Army of Darkness, and Stephen Colbert's Tek Jansen of Alpha Squad 7.

Layman is well known for his work in animal rights. He became a vegetarian in 1979. That same year, he began ending his comics with the phrase: "Help control the pet population; have your pet spayed or neutered."

John Layman is an avid Beatles fan and owns all of their works on original vinyl. And continues to keep buying memorabilia. He would be happy to talk with you about the importance of the band in music's history books.
