John Kucera

John Kucera (born 17 September 1984 in Calgary) is a Canadian alpine skier. He burst onto the racing scene in 2006, winning his first World Cup, a Super G race, on November 26 of that year on home snow in Lake Louise, Canada. Later that season, on December 15, he finished third in another World Cup race, this time in Val Gardena, Italy, also in Super G. Kucera represented Canada at the 2006 Winter Olympics, finishing 17th in combined, 22nd in super G, and 27th in downhill.
He is the son of Czech emigrants and is fluent in Czech.
