John Izzo was a runner for SUNY Brockport in the 400m and 800m, but is mostly known for his contributions to coaching, more specifically, race walking. He has developed many American racewalkers into international standouts, a feat known to be difficult, as racewalking is not as well known as other sports. He currently works at the University of Rochester where he coaches track and field, cross country, and is President of the New York State Collegiate Track Conference.
