John Hamill
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
John Hamill is an English actor who was born on May 3, 1947 in Shepherd's Bush, London.
He had previously been a bodybuilder and one of England's most popular "physique models" in the late 1960s before turning to acting.
He left acting in the late seventies after being unable to financially support himself; he went on to run a Pine Furnisher shop.
In 1975, he attempted to direct, star in and produce a sex film called "Doing the Best I Can". It was never finished/released.
Hamill's verdict was "The sex movies ruined my career. But you know how it is, I was out of work, the birds were smashing, and I've always been a born flasher".
He appeared in the following films: Trog, The Beast in the Cellar, No Blade of Grass, Tower of Evil, Travels with My Aunt, The Over-Amorous Artist and Hardcore.
Television appearances included: Crossroads, Space: 1999, The Venturers, 1990, Doctor Who (in the serial The Ribos Operation) and The Professionals.
