John H. Campbell

John H. Campbell is the Councillor for Doboy Ward in the Brisbane City Council in Australia. The Doboy Ward comprises the suburbs of Cannon Hill, Carina, Hemmant, Murarrie, Ransome, Tingalpa, Wakerley, most of Belmont and part of Manly West.

Campbell was first elected to the Brisbane City Council in 1982. He has held a variety of roles, including:

  • President of the Australian Local Government Association (1996 - 1999)
  • Deputy Mayor (1991 - 1997)
  • Chairperson of the Finance Committee (1991 - 2000)
  • Leader of the Opposition (1990 - 1991)
  • Honorary Treasurer of the Local Government Association of Queensland (1997 - 2000)

Campbell is the Deputy Leader of the majority Labor Group in Council and the Chairperson of the Water and City Businesses Committee. As Chairperson, Campbell's responsibilities include being spokesperson for the following Council businesses:
