John Gruber

John Gruber (born 1973) is the creator of Markdown along with significant help from Aaron Swartz regarding formatting syntax.[1] He has a blog called Daring Fireball,[2] focusing mainly on technology, and specifically Apple Macintoshes and web-related issues. On April 20, 2006, he quit his job at Joyent to work full-time on his blog.[3]
