John Gill Shorter

John Gill Shorter (April 3, 1818May 29, 1872) was the Democratic Governor of the U.S. state of Alabama from 1861 to 1863, during the Civil War.

He was born in 1818 in Monticello, Georgia and died in 1872 in Eufaula, Alabama.
