John Franklin (actor)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

John Franklin (born John Paul Salapatek on June 16, 1959 in Blue Island, Chicago) is an American actor. Franklin graduated at the University of Illinois. He suffers from GHD...which, he half-jokes, has helped him maintain a deceptively youthful appearance.

[edit] Film Career

John's first big-screen appearance was 1984's Children of the Corn. Although he was portraying a child ("Isaac"), Franklin was 17 at the time. After two years of mostly-television-based work (notably episodes of Highway to Heaven and Kids Incorporated), he returned to the big screen for Andy Colby's Incredible Video Adventure. The year 1988 was busier for John; he appeared in A Night at the Magical Castle as "Tweak," and also lended his voice to "Walkabout Chucky" in the original Child's Play. In the 1990s, Franklin was all but unrecognizable as "Cousin Itt" from The Addams Family and Addams Family Values. He kept doing films in the 1990's, such as Disney's Tower of Terror and Wag the Dog (aptly cast as a jockey). John returned to his roots (no pun intended) for a fifth sequel, the straight-to-video horror yarn Children of the Corn 666: Isaac's Return, in which he both reprised his character and co-wrote the screenplay. He continues to make television and movie appearances, including guest roles on Beauty and the Beast (he was "Vincent" as a child) and--more recently--Star Trek: Voyager.

Franklin speaks French and German fluently. Besides TV and films, his hobbies include gardening. He now works as an English teacher at Golden Valley High School in Santa Clarita, California
