John Ferguson (clergyman)

John Ferguson (1852–1 March 1925) was a Scottish born Australian Presbyterian minister.

Ferguson came from Invercargill, New Zealand, to be minister of St Stephen's Church in Sydney, Australia. He was the Acting Principal of St Andrew's Theological College in the University of Sydney in 1917. Subsequently, he was appointed Senior Chaplain and became Chairman of the exclusive Presbyterian Ladies' College, Sydney Council in 1913, and served in this role until 1923. Ferguson House at the Presbyterian Ladies' College is named after him.

In October 1924, Ferguson collapsed in the pulpit of St. Stephen's church and subsequently died at his home, Atherton, Bayswater Road, on 1 March 1925. He is buried at South Head Cemetry in Sydney.
