John Evans (August 19, 1877 - June 10, 1990) is the longest-lived man ever authenticated in the United Kingdom.
He had been a Welsh miner, and became the oldest man in the United Kingdom ever when he broke the record of England's John Mosely Turner. At the grand old age of 108, Evans was fitted with a pacemaker.
The male longevity record set by John, who died at 112 years and 295 days old, still stands.
He is recognized as the world's oldest man from November 25, 1988 until his passing. Guinness had recognized Evans as the "world's oldest man" in 1989, but let the title lapse after his passing, only to bring it back in 2000.
