John Evans (June 18, 1948, in Memphis, Tennessee) was the original keyboardist for the Box Tops. He left the band in 1968 and was the only original member that didn't rejoin the band when they reformed in 1996. He should not be confused with John Evan whom played keyboards for Jethro Tull from 1970 until 1980.
