John Dunbar

John Dunbar (born in 1943 in Mexico City) is a British artist, collector and former gallerist best known for his connections to the 1960s art and music scene. Jennifer Dunbar Dorn is his sister.
Dunbar attended Cambridge University where he met and married singer Marianne Faithfull in 1965. The couple have a son named Nicholas together, born the same year as their marriage. In 1964 he co-founded the Indica Gallery with Barry Miles. The gallery became known for staging exhibitions by cutting edge aritsts, including Boyle Family, and Yoko Ono from the Fluxus movement. It was at Indica where he intoduced Ono to John Lennon. After Indica folded he became an artist and has exhibited work alongside Peter Blake and Colin Self. John Dunbar is also the son of Bob Dunbar.
