John Edward Drew (born September 30, 1954 in Vredenburgh, Alabama) is a former professional basketball player. A 6'6" guard/forward from Gardner-Webb University, he played 11 seasons in the NBA. Drew averaged 18.5 points per game, 10.7 rebounds per game, and led the NBA in offensive rebounding in his rookie season, and was named to the NBA All-Rookie Team. From 1974 to 1982, he played for the Atlanta Hawks, with whom he was a two-time All-Star. Drew also played three seasons (1982-1985) with the Utah Jazz, and he retired with 15,291 career points.

Drew was not a great shooter but could often hit a long-range shot. His forte was to use the quick dribble to get offensive floor position. Using his wide shoulders to keep the defender at bay while shooting a medium to short-range shot. Drew's style was physical, resulting in a lot of free throw attempts.
