John Burroughs Drake II (1872-1964) and his brother Tracy Drake were the developers and proprietors of the Blackstone Hotel and Drake Hotel,[1] which are both located along Michigan Avenue in Chicago, IL. Their father John Drake I had been a business partner of Timothy Blackstone.
The brothers acquired the property for the Drake Hotel from the estate of Potter Palmer in 1916 after it gave up on the idea of building a hotel itself.[2]
