John Crichton-Stuart, Baron Mount Stuart (September 25, 176722 January 1794) was the son of John Stuart, 1st Marquess of Bute and Charlotte Hickman.

On October 12, 1792, he married Elizabeth Penelope McDouall, daughter of Patrick McDouall, 6th Earl of Dumfries and Margaret Crauford.

Lord Patrick Crichton-Stuart eventually obtained the rank of the son of a Marquess, which his father would have been, had he not died before his father, the First Marquess.
