John Christopher, a fictional character in Star Trek, is a captain in the United States Air Force in the late 1960s. A fighter pilot based out of the Strategic Air Command in Omaha, Nebraska, Christopher detected the USS Enterprise which had been thrown back in time. Christopher's plane begins to break up under the stress, requiring the pilot to be beamed aboard the ship.

Once Christopher spends time getting to know Captain James T. Kirk and the other members of the crew, it becomes apparent that Christopher cannot be returned to Earth, as his knowledge of the future would invariably corrupt the timeline. But at the same time, Christopher must be allowed to return, or else his as-yet-unborn son will never exist and consequently will never head an important Earth-Saturn space mission.

Eventually, Christopher is returned to his fighter jet just before it breaks up (and before Christopher can get any information on what he has seen of the futuristic Starfleet vessel), thus ensuring that history fulfills its proper course.

Captain Christopher, played by Roger Perry, appeared in the Star Trek: The Original Series episode "Tomorrow is Yesterday".
