John Carew Rolfe

John Carew Rolfe, Ph.D. (b. 1859, Newburyport, Massachusetts - d. 1943) was an American classical scholar, the son of William J. Rolfe.
He graduated from Harvard in 1881 and from Cornell (Ph.D.) in 1885.
He taught at Cornell (1882 - 1885), at Harvard (1889 - 1890), at the University of Michigan, and at the University of Pennsylvania.
He was professor in 1907 - 1908 at the American School of Classical Studies in Rome. In 1910 - 1911, he was president of the American Philological Association.
