John Briare

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

John Briare was the Republican nominee for the United States 2nd Congressional District of Massachusetts in 1994. He won the Republican primary but lost in the general election to Richard Neal (D) the incumbent, and former mayor of Springfield, MA. He was one of 6 Republican Candidates who did not sign Newt Gingrich's Contract with America because of his displeasure with the pledge to curtail social Security payments to seniors.

After having been defeated, John Briare ran for several local offices in the town of Dudley, MA[1] and won all of his elections including becoming Chairman of the Planning Board and the Assessors Office.
