John Boyne

John Boyne (born April 30, 1971) is an Irish novelist.

Although his father worked in insurance and his mother was a housewife, Boyne credits his writing talent from his family's weekly trips to the library.[1]

He read English at Trinity College, Dublin, and Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia[1], where he was awarded the Curtis Brown prize. He is the author of five novels, as well as a number of short stories which have been published in various anthologies and broadcast on radio and television. His novels are published in 26 languages. The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas is a New York Times Bestseller. Boyne resides in Dublin.
