John Boden

John George Boden was a first class cricketer who played one match for Yorkshire County Cricket Club against the Australian touring team at Bramall Lane, Sheffield in 1878.

A right hand batsman and wicket keeper, he scored 6 runs in his only innings before being clean bowled by Allen and caught GH Bailey off the bowling of Yorkshire stalwart Billy Bates for 23. Yorkshire won the match by 9 wickets.

He was born on December 27, 1848 in Birstall, Leeds and died on January 3, 1928 in Ilkley aged 79 years.
