John Bevan (rugby union coach)

John Bevan (died 1986) was a Welsh international Rugby Union player, one of two John Bevans who played for Wales during the 1970s. Bevan played for Aberavon RFC at fly half before being capped for Wales in 1975.

Bevan, a schoolteacher, toured New Zealand with the British Lions in 1977. He later coached the Wales national side from 1982 to 1985, but was forced to retire on the grounds of ill health. He died of cancer.
