John Barry Ryan, Sr. (June 22, 1874 – July 26, 1947) is an American author and financier.

John Barry Ryan was born to Thomas Fortune Ryan and Ida Mary Barry.

He married Margaret Kahn, daughter of the financier Otto Kahn.

Their daughter Virginia Fortune Ryan married David Ogilvy, 13th Earl of Airlie.
