Johannes Jacobus van der Wath (born 10 January 1978 in Newcastle, Natal) is a South African cricketer. He is a right hand batsman and a right hand medium fast bowler. He started his first class career in 1996 in South Africa where he played for the Eagles. He developed into an allrounder and performed well with both bat and ball. When Jacques Kallis was injured during the VB Series in Australia, van der Wath was called to the team. He debuted against Australia at the Telstra Dome, in Melbourne. He has also played county cricket for Nottinghamshire and Sussex.
