We fought for the public good and would have enfranchised the people and secured the welfare of the whole groaning creation, if the nation had not more delighted in servitude than in freedom. |

I have contributed to Wikipedia since 2005. The subject areas that interest me are the University of New South Wales, Australian student politics, the Government of New South Wales, Public transport in metropolitan New South Wales and Protected areas of New South Wales.
I am as interested developing an effective structure and accessible layout for information as I am developing quality content. I contribute to all three.
My philosophy is that of the economist: often in error, seldom in doubt. I'll give my position the benefit of a rigorous defence, and if it turns out to be wrong, I'll admit it and move on. Opportunities for me to do this can be identified on my talk page.
[edit] News
- I have been working mainly on elections related pages, especially New South Wales general election, 2007 and articles concerning election issues. In addition, I have been adding new-look results tables to elections pages for New South Wales, Tasmania, the Northern Territory and the Australian Capital Territory. Join the discussion on election article formatting at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Australian politics. Joestella 14:17, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
- Regular visitors will note the new-look user page. With the exception of the new, better photograph, it's designed to be less about self-promotion and more about my writing here. Those who came to see the old photo, which depicts me disguised as an academic, can click here. Joestella 18:27, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- Wikipedia contains many obscure articles. What makes Allandale railway station, New South Wales special is that there is a picture of the subject matter. Among the insights of this page: It's in between Lochinvar and Greta, and no trains stop there. Now, it's my view that some railway stations just aren't important enough to have their own article. Is this controversial? We'll see: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Sydney/Railway stations. Joestella 13:18, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
