Talk:Joe Flynn (inventor)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The article reads like a promotional piece. The unstated implication is that this apparatus outputs more power than it consumes. This, plus the reference "history and controversy" section of the Motionless Electrical Generator article suggests that this article is selective at best, deceptive at worst. Does anyone know enough to fill in the background here? LeContexte 16:23, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

I've added a reference on Perpetual Motion page - Flynn's invention seems one of a number which are clearly perpetual motion machines (as the term is generally understood) but avoid using the term. The patent application, the article and the inventor's website all avoid the obvious implication of the claims: that this machine's energy output is in excess of its input. A reference to the problem was included in a previous version of this article (albeit in the context of a defence of invention) but removed by User:Timharwoodx, who wrote an article on which much of the material here is based LeContexte 09:11, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

I fully support removal of this article. It certainly doesn't fall into the general category of "magnetic devices," at best it should be placed under a category "physicists," if at all. Cfweise 14:51, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

I have deleted all unverified material copied from Tim Harwood's article and rewritten the remaining text. LeContexte 16:41, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
