Joel Hart

Joel Hart ( born 24 August , 1984 , in Christchurch , New Zealand) , is a New Zealand basketballer who currently plays as a point guard for the Canterbury Rams in the New Zealand National Basketball League. Hart played his high school basketball at Kaiapoi High School where he excelled , eventually making the New Zealand Under 19 basketball team . In the 2003 NBL season, Hart made his Canterbury Rams debut playing in three matches, without scoring a point . During the 2004 and 2005 NBL season's he featured in a handful of matches also , but without much impact. In the current 2006 New Zealand National Basketball League season , Hart is relishing playing under new rams head coach , Chris Sparks , where he is backing up Jeremy Kench at the point guard position. On May 11 , 2006 Hart had a then career high ten points in a victory over the Taranaki Mountain Airs . Hart then backed this up with an outstanding all round performance on May 27, 2006 registering a new career high of 23 points against the Waikato Pistons , where he hit 4 three point field goals . Hart has been known to be very patriotic towards his Canterbury province. He is often seen wearing red and black socks on the floor for the rams , or a red or black wristband.
