Joe le Taxi

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Joe le Taxi is a Welsh zydeco band, started in 1992 by accordionist Rees Wesson (formerly with Edward the Second), that are named after the 1987 song performed by French singer Vanessa Paradis.

They played in the style of John Delafose and Boozoo Chavis and, while changes in line-up led to a loss of momentum in the late 1990s, the current line-up (since early 2001) has regained their reputation.

Joe le Taxi appeared at Bury, England, and Ameland, Netherlands, in 2003 and at Raamsdonksveer, the most prestigious zydeco festival in Europe, in June 2004.
