Joe Wiebe

Joe Wiebe is a Canadian writer from Vancouver, British Columbia of Mennonite descent. He was born in St. Catharines, Ontario and has also lived in Victoria, and Winnipeg. He has earned a BFA and MFA in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia.

Wiebe is a regular contributor to the Books section of the Vancouver Sun, and has also written for The Globe and Mail and many other Canadian newspapers. His magazine articles have appeared in Toro, Geist, enRoute, BC Business, and several other publications.

His short story, "Sunlight + Coloured Glass," appears in the anthology Half in the Sun, (Ronsdale Press, Vancouver, BC, 2006).

Currently, Joe is seeking a publisher for his baseball-themed novel, Mudville, which was shortlisted for the 2005 Three-Day Novel Contest. He is also working on a non-fiction book exploring his family history in Russia and Ukraine.
