Joe Penny

Joe Penny is an actor who was born on June 24, 1956, in London, England, UK. Alumnus of Marina High School, Huntington Beach, CA (1974). He is known for his role as Nick Ryder in the detective series Riptide from 1984 to 1986 and for his role as Jake Styles in the series Jake and the Fatman from 1987 to 1992.
Starting with a minor role on Forever Fernwood in 1977, the busy actor has appeared in numerous TV movies and has made many guest appearances on television shows ranging from T.J. Hooker, Vega$, Matt Houston, Lou Grant, CHiPs, and Flamingo Road to The Sopranos. He also appeared on The New Twilight Zone #70 -- "The Convict's Piano," "Archie Bunker's Place" (1983 "I'm Torn, Here,") "Matlock: The Don," "Chicken Soup for the Soul," "Twice in A Lifetime," "Walker: Texas Ranger," "Touched By An Angel," "Diagnosis Murder," and in TV movies: "The Gangster Chronicles," (1981),"The Operation" (aka "Bodily Harm"), "A Whisper Kills" (aka "Whisper Kill"), the mini-series "Roses Are For the Rich," "The Disappearance of Vonnie," "Double Jeopardy" (aka "Victim of the Night"), "She Woke Up Pregnant," "The Danger of Love: The Carolyn Warmus Story," "Terror in the Night," "Two Against Time," "Stranger in My Home," "The Prophet's Game," "Young At Heart," "Family of Cops 2," "Family of Cops 3" and "The Red Phone" (2 movies). He was also a co-host, along with Alexandra Cousteau, grandaughter of the late Jacques Yves Cousteau, of an informational science-based half-hour show called "Scope." His most recent TV series (besides "The Sopranos), are "7th Heaven," "Boomtown" and "Threshold." Currently, Joe Penny continues his role as Frank Darnell in "The Hallmark Channel Mysteries"-"The Jane Doe" movies, co-starring with Lea Thompson, with several new "Jane Doe" movies to be shown in 2007. (He also appeared in several theatrical releases: "S.O.B." "Jack of Hearts," "Bittersweet" & "The Little Unicorn.")
His new sci-fi movie will be shown on Saturday, March 24, 2007, on the sci-fi cable channel.
