Joe Maloney

Joe Maloney (born 26 January 1934 in Liverpool; died 18 October 2006 in Liverpool), was an English football player of the 1950's.
He started his career at Liverpool F.C., coming through the junior ranks at Anfield, taking the place of Bob Paisley when making his first team debut in a goal less draw at home to Bolton Wanderers in March 1953.
After making twelve first team appearances as a Central Defender, he left for Shrewsbury Town in July 1954, for whom he made 237 league appearances. After leaving the club in 1961, he had brief spells at Port Vale, Crewe Alexandra and Winsford United
