[edit] Trivia

  • His nickname is The Red Panther from Honmoku. Honmoku is the name of one of the piers in Yokohama.

  • Joe possesses the same last name as another well-known character created by SNK that same year: Kyo Kusanagi. The two characters are not related, nor do they meet at any point. Joe also shares his first name with Joe Higashi (and also shares the same haircut).
  • Joe's stage is in a train station. It's also the first stage when the player uses Joe in the game.
  • In Yujou no Gattai Nekketsu Punch, his GanGan move (in this game is comparables with DM in KOF series), Joe summons a small guy who appears running from behind him and if got success, he grabs the opponent and then Joe rushes and make rapid punches (similar to Joe Higashi's Bakuretsu Ken) to finish with an uppercut. Joe, Kisarah and Goh are the only characters in the game that can summon helper characters (or strikers) during the fight.
  • Joe doesn't appear in the recent SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters DS, but his small partner does, grabbing Sheen Genus in an Action card of this game, probably Joe was starting to make his Yujou no Gattai Nekketsu Punch move to Sheen (see above).
