Joe King is the lead guitarist, occasional vocalist, and co-founder of Colorado-based piano rock band The Fray. King started the band with vocalist/pianist Isaac Slade in 2002. King and Slade had been schoolmates who decided to start a band after meeting each other in a record store. King had previously been in a band named Fancy's Show Box before forming The Fray. He co-wrote every song except one ("Hundred") on the band's first album How to Save a Life, and provided lead vocals on the song "Heaven Forbid", which he wrote for his sister. He also sings "Uncertainty" and "Dixie" that will possibly be on The Fray's next album. King has a wife named Julie and has 2 daughters named Elise and Ava.
