Joe Bonni

Joe Bonni (born August 23, 1969 in Malden, Ma) was editor of the Weekly Dig, a Boston alternative weekly, from its formation in 1999 until August of 2003, when he was dismissed by publisher Jeff Lawrence over business and creative differences.

Bonni was also the editor and publisher of the Pit Report/Endangered Species, an alternative/underground music fanzine published in Boston and distributed throughout the northeast in the early to mid 90s. He has been a board member of the Massachusetts Libertarian Party, a founder of Mass Ink Link, an organization that sought to re-legalize tattooing in Massachusetts, and a board member of Masscann, an organization in Massachusetts dedicated to the re-legalization of cannabis. From 1994 - 2002 Bonni produced, co-produced, MCed and/or performed in the annual Freedom Rally staged by Masscann on the Boston Common, of which the Dig and the Pit Report were official sponsors.

He is mentioned unfavorably in songs by the band Anal Cunt.

He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Archaeology at the University of Chicago.
