Joe Baca Jr. served one term as an Assemblyman from California's 62nd district from 2004 until 2006. He stepped down to make an unsuccessful run for the State Senate in 2006. He lost the primary to Gloria McLeod. Baca currently serves on the Rialto City Council. Baca is the son of Congressman Joe Baca. Baca Jr.'s brother, Jeremy made an unsuccessful bid to succeed his brother in the Assembly as he lost the primary to Amina Carter.
