Joe's Pub

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Joe's Pub is a cabaret located in The Public Theater complex at 425 Lafayette Street in lower Manhattan. It is one of the few remaining venues of its type in the city.

Opened in October 1998, the club provides an intimate candlelit space where patrons can enjoy dinner and drink service before and during performances seven days a week. The Village Voice voted it the "Best Excuse to Let a Single Venue Dictate Your Taste."

Joe's Pub serves as host to not only established performers, but emerging talents in a variety of fields, including pop and rock, jazz, country, rhythm and blues, Broadway musicals, stand-up comedy, and even spoken word. Among those who have appeared there are Donna McKechnie, Sandra Bernhard, Harvey Fierstein, Dolly Parton, Eartha Kitt, Alicia Keys, Norah Jones, Idina Menzel, Audra McDonald, Mort Sahl, ETHEL, Al Franken, Emmylou Harris, and Faith Prince.
