[edit] Notability of Peter Anderson

A tag has been placed on Peter Anderson, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. UnfriendlyFire 20:52, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the external links you added to the page Education do not comply with our guidelines for external links. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you.

Specifically, the website http://www.edu-net.cabanova.com requires downloading material, encourages registration, and contains too much advertising. Nposs 22:42, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

See the external links guideline and spam policy for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. [edit] Peter Anderson

The logs for the Peter Anderson page show that it's been deleted three times, by three different administrators, and always for the same reason: Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion, articles 7. This refers to: "Unremarkable people, groups, companies and web content. An article about a real person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content that does not assert the importance or significance of its subject." I can't tell what was in the article, but that's the reason it was deleted. Hope this helps. If you want to protest, you can try Wikipedia:Deletion review. Please read the instructions there carefully. Best regards, Angus McLellan (Talk) 22:04, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

The content was:
"Peter Anderson is a 12 year old Edinburgh entrepreneur. H e own SYSTEMATIC (UK) and Edu-net He was born on 11th June 1994 Edu-Net"
The reason it was deleted was because it clearly fails WP:BIO and WP:CSD#A7. Please read our policies, which can help you avoid making articles on subjects that are not notable. Rockpocket 22:54, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Clips 4 sale

A tag has been placed on Clips 4 sale, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because it is an article about a certain website, blog, forum, or other web content that does not assert the importance or significance of that web location. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles, as well as notability guidelines for websites. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on Talk:Clips 4 sale. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Kon-Tiki001 22:23, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
