Jodi Fountain McLeod (sipmly called Jodi) is a character in the television series McLeod's Daughters. She was portrayed by Rachael Carpani.

[edit] Biography

Jodi is the daughter of Meg Fountain. She always lived on Drovers but wanted to go to the city to become more than a farmer. She was born at Drovers Run, the daughter of Meg the housekeeper and her estranged ex-husband Kevin Fountain. Jodi grew up living on Drovers Run with single-mum Meg, never realising that her true father was Jack McLeod. This made her the sister of Tess and the dead Claire McLeod.

When she became a teenager, Jack McLeod paid for Jodi to attend a girls' boarding school. It was here that she met Kate Manfredi, and started dreaming of a glamorous life of becoming a hair stylist and traveling the world beyond the farm gate. But when Jodi's Year 12 exam results were a disappointment, she reluctantly joined the work force at Drovers Run.

Although Jodi thought that working on Drovers Run would be a real drag, what she learnt was love, loyalty and a huge amount about how to manage a large property. When her mother got offered a job and moved to the city, Jodi chose to stay behind at Drovers.

Having worked as a farmhand for the last few years, Jodi discovered the late Jack McLeod was her real father after discovering that Jack left her a trust fund of $100,000 and getting a DNA test. She was then made part-owner of Drovers by her 'new' sister Tess, and temporarily estranged from her mother, Jodi was forced to question her life, her name and life goals.

Season six ended with the departure of Tess, who left to start a new life with Nick in Argentina and Kate who moved to Africa with the love of her life, local vet Dave Brewer. Now without her sister and best friend, Jodi must face the challenges of work and love without their support.

Despite being a born romantic, Jodi has been unlucky in love. She had on on/off relationship with local boy Craig Woodland. Her two earlier love affairs both ended badly when she jilted her Italian fiance Alberto at the alter and then watched her mechanic boyfriend Luke Morgan being arrested and sent to prison. Jodi thought she had found true love with Matt Bosnich, a handsome loner who she later learnt was on the witness protection program. After Jodi helped Matt narrowly escape from a hitman, Matt was whisked away and given a new identity. It seemed she'd never see him again. Jodi then moved on and met Riley Ward, a young horse trainer and horse activist. Although they got off to a wrong start (Quite similar to when Claire McLeod first met Peter Johnson), they soon developed a respect for each other and eventually formed a romantic attachment. But then Matt returned to pursue the woman he loves, even though Jodi has moved on.

Then Jodi and Matt get back together, after the hit man returns Matt must leave once more but Jodi decides to go with him, only for the two of them to be blown-up seconds later within their police escorts car. Both die, and four days later Kate comes back from Africa to be at Jodi's funeral.
