Jockey's Ridge
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jockey's Ridge is the remnant of what were once huge, mobile, towering sand dunes on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The development of vacation homes has severely encroached on the dunes in the last 20 years. Today, Jockey's Ridge is the largest natural sand dune in the Eastern United States.[1]
